Sights of Sacramento | California State Fair, Sacramento, CA

I absolutely love the California State Fair! My parents have been taking me since I was a child, and the tradition carries on every year. Being able to experience all the glories of fair with my mom, year after year, makes it that much better! :)

Hours would be spent walking the grounds of Cal Expo every year, exploring all that the great state of California had to offer. From flowers to shoes, horses to bunnies, there is always too much to look at in one visit! 

This year, I was privileged enough to make it not once, but twice! Both visits, I had to be sure to pack my camera and tripod, because it was the magical midway at dusk, that always captured my imagination the most... Something about the way the lights of the midway glow against the Californian night sky, that absolutely mesmerizes me! 

The first night spent at fair, there wasn't a cloud in sight... But my second trip to fair, included one amazingly breathtaking sunset, accompanied by a whole sky full of perfectly shaped clouds! Oh, how I love clouds!!

Photography adventures in Texas!

One of my best friends from high school, Chris, had moved to Texas a few years back to be closer to his family. His mom, Nora is a photographer in the Houston area and a member of  Professional Photographers of America, PPA. Nora asked me if I would be her guest at Imaging USA 2011, a national photography convention, that was scheduled to take place in January in San Antonio. Flying into Houston, and driving the three hours to San Antonio, Nora, her husband Mark, my good friend Chris, and I made our way to San Antonio. We stayed a few nights right across the street from the convention center. Roaming the Riverwalk at night and spending our days at the convention, I had lots of time to photograph my travels. Starting with the split-flight from Sacramento to San Francisco, then San Francisco to Houston. I photographed this picture from the airplane about half-way between Sacramento and San Francisco.

Before heading to the convention, I made a new friend with Nora's mini Schnauzer, Bella.

While in San Antonio, I found all kinds of things to photograph, from the local architecture, to light fixtures, to the local wildlife. These were some of my favorite shots from the trip.
