Brittany, Shane, & Brielle | Folsom Maternity & Newborn Photography | Summer 2015

If I could describe Brittany in one word, it would be glowing!
Her personality shines through every time I see her, so loving and always smiling. I always looked forward to visiting my one-stop-dog-shop, Sbarkles, to chat it up with this lovely lady behind the counter!
Watching her grow over the years, and turning into a caring mother is pretty amazing. This is because  I met Brittany's mother through my best friend many years ago. It really is an incredible feeling watching my clients grow through my lens!
When I found out that her and Shane were expecting their first child earlier this year, I was overjoyed because I knew what wonderful parents they would become.

Brittany and Shane welcomed a healthy, beautiful baby girl in June. You would never know from these photos that this cutie weighed in at 9 pounds, 14 ounces at birth!

Thank you Brittany, Shane, Brittany's mom, Kristen, and that adorable little cutie Brielle for letting me spend time with you guys and capture these adorable photos!

Zane | Folsom Newborn Photography | April 2015

The last few months I have seriously lagged on my blogging, so this is me trying to play catch up! (Two blog posts in one!)
 :)

I cannot believe how quickly time flies! It was October when I was photographing Baby Zane's newborn session, and now it's July, and we have just set up his nine-month session for this upcoming weekend! His three month session was a mini-session in comparison to our six-month session. Although his three-month session took place at his home, he was a little on the grumpy side. I don't blame him though, I would be grumpy if I was growing teeth too! We did manage to get a few smiles though! He just looked too cute in his little "tux"!

Zane's six-month session was a much better day for him! We enjoyed some sunshine at the local park. He was fascinated with all of the sights and sounds, and was totally rockin' the shy look at the beginning!

He quickly warmed up to me though, and gave me this huge smile!

See ya on Sunday, Mister Cutie Pants!

Zane - Newborn Session | Sacramento Newborn Photographer | October 2014

I love babies! Ok that is a silly way to start a blog post, but as I continue on in my photographic career, I have decided that I love photographing babies! Their smell, their innocence, their cuteness, their teeny-tiny toes, all of it... I love it all! After all, they are our future!

There are so many changes taking place in the first year of life. First smile, first laugh, first step, and a lot more firsts to follow. Why not document it all? That is exactly what I am working on with my Watch Me Grow photographic series. Document as many of these firsts as I can!

Meet Zane.

He is the newest member of the k.smith photography family! Making his appearance during the beginning of October, he was welcomed into the world with an abundance of family and friends nearby. After more than 24-hours in labor and very little progression, Melissa needed a little help bringing baby Zane into the world via Caesarean section (c-section). That required a few extra days in the hospital for the mother-son duo. This is where our photographic journey began!

After a few days at Mercy San Juan Medical Center, this pair was given the green light to go home!
It was at their home in Citrus Heights, where we continued our photographic journey! Although I am personally not a fan of the Oakland Raiders (Go Cowboys!), I didn't mind having football props brought into our session! Besides, the Raiders might not be a Northern California football team much longer, might as well document them while we can! ;)

Our next session will take place before Christmas, for some holiday fun!
Thank you Melissa for letting me document this first year of Zane's existence!
:)
